Buscopan tablets are used for the relief of pain and discomfort from abdominal cramps and spasms. Buscopan contains Hyoscine which provides an antispasmodic effect and relaxes the cramping muscles of the stomach and bowel. Buscopan can be used for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

Buscopan starts to work in just 15 minutes, acting directly on the muscle spasm in the bowel to quickly and effectively relieve those painful cramps and discomfort.

What Are The Symptoms of IBS and How Do I Know If I Have IBS?

The symptoms of IBS can vary from one person to another, but if you’ve been experiencing any of the following symptoms for at least six months, it is posisble that you you could be suffering from IBS:

• Abdominal pain or discomfort - IBS pain is often described as ‘stabbing’, ‘sharp’ and ‘intense’ (not a ‘burning’ sensation like indigestion or heartburn) and it’s caused by spasms in your digestive tract.
• Bloating or swelling of your abdomen - Bloating can be a significant part of IBS, some IBS sufferers even say the abdominal bloating caused by IBS can even make them ‘look pregnant’ or affect what clothes they wear.
• Changes in your bowel habits – a change in what's normal for you to either constipation or diarrhoea and sometimes alternating between the two.

How To Use

Who can take Buscopan tablets?

Adults and children over 12 years of age.

How to take Buscopan

Adults and children over 12 years: Take two tablets up to four times each day.

If symptoms do not improve or if they worsen after 2 weeks of treatment a doctor should be consulted.

Do not take Buscopan tablets in any of the following conditions

• Myasthenia gravis (a rare muscle weakness)
• Megacolon (a very enlarged colon)
• Narrow angle glaucoma (an eye condition)
• Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients

KEEP ALL MEDICINES OUT OF THE EACH OF CHILDREN.
