At Inish Pharmacy we understand that businesses and consumers alike have a responsibility to take steps to minimise negative effects on the environment. We are dedicated to using packaging in a sustainable way, this includes using recylced materials and phasing out single use plastic packaging.
We are proud members of Repak and their 'Team Green' initiative. This aim is to help grow packaging recycling and recovery in Ireland. We want to reduce the amount of plastic packaging used and help increase the the use of reused and recycled plastic.
Cardboard & Boxes
The boxes we use for our orders are all made from sustainable sources and are fully recyclable. You may find some orders placed in reused boxes, particularly if the box is a very large box or contains a heavy order. We realise it can be nice to have a new box arrive for every order, but when appropriate, we will reuse some intact boxes for dispatching orders to customers in an effort to cut down on the number of boxes used. Every box reused before recycling means one less box needing to be produced...this means more trees in our environment!
All cardboard packaging waste at Inish Pharmacy is recycled. This includes our warehouse and our pharmacy locations. Please try to reuse your packaging where possible, then recycle when you are finished.
Paper Void Fill
We use Ranpak Greenline paper void fill in our orders. Fillpak Paper is an excellent void fill and protective packaging solution, which dramatically reduces the environmental impact compared to using plastic bubble wrap. This paper is 100% recycled, naturally biodegradable and compostable.
Bubble Wrap & Air Pillows
You will only ever receive a plastic air pillow or bubble wrap in an order from Inish Pharmacy when it has been reused. We stock products from hundreds of different suppliers and some of these deliveries contain air pillows and bubble wrap when we receive our stock. We reuse this plastic, protective packaging when it cannot be recycled, to protect delicate products such as glass bottles. We are working towards using only recyclable or biodegradable bubble wrap in 2020.
At Inish Pharmacy, we do not use padded envelopes to dispatch orders. This packaging contains bubble wrap on the inside and cannot easily be recycled. As we only use cardboard boxes, your order will not fit through a letterbox for delivery. All orders require signature or delivery confirmation and cannot be delivered without one.
