Do not take Medithyme Cough Syrup
If you are allergic to thyme or any of the other ingredients of this traditional herbal medicine. - If you are allergic to plants belonging to the mint family (Lamiaceae . family).
Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you might be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Medithyme Cough Syrup contains alcohol. Please also read the section “Medithyme Cough Syrup contains alcohol, and maltitol, benzoate salt and sodium” if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Pregnancy: The use of Medithyme Cough Syrup during pregnancy is not recommended.
- Breast-feeding: The use of Medithyme Cough Syrup during breastfeeding is not recommended.
Medithyme Cough Syrup contains alcohol, maltitol, benzoate salt and sodium
This medicine contains 260 mg of alcohol (ethanol) in each dose (15 ml), which is equivalent to 2.2 % vol ethanol (alcohol). The amount in each dose (15 ml) of this medicine is equivalent to less than 7 ml beer or 3 ml wine. The small amount of alcohol in this medicine will not have any noticeable eects. This medicine contains liquid maltitol. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicinal product. Maltitol may have a mild laxative eect. Calorific value: 2.3 kcal/g maltitol. This traditional herbal medicine contains 19.5 mg benzoate salt in each 15ml dose. This traditional herbal medicine contains less than 1 mmol sodium (23 mg) per 15 ml dose, that is to say essentially sodium-free.
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS.
Like all medicines, Medithyme Cough Syrup can cause side eects, although not everybody gets them. The following severe side eects may occur: Allergic reactions including Quincke’s oedema and anaphylactic shock have been reported. Stop taking the syrup and tell your doctor immediately if: - you get any swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat - you have any diculty in swallowing or breathing (including shortness of breath) - you get a skin rash after taking the syrup. The above symptoms may mean you are having a very rare, serious allergic reaction to this traditional herbal medicine. The following side eects may occur as well: - Stomach disorders If any of the side eects gets serious, or if you notice any side eects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.
