Never put WEEE, batteries or light bulbs in any of your bins.
By recycling electronic waste, we prevent it from going to landfills, which stops harmful substances from damaging our environment. You’re also giving these redundant items new life because anything with a plug, battery or circuit board contains valuable components which can be used again in manufacturing. This all contributes to a more sustainable, circular economy.
What Is WEEE?
WEEE stands for ‘Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment’. WEEE is end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment – in simpler terms, it is anything with a plug or a battery! WEEE can range from old or broken fridge freezers, washing machines, TVs, toasters and kettles, electronic tools and children’s toys to smaller items such as mobile phones, cables, remote controls and even watches!
