How to Use & Directions

For maximum effectiveness, Cavilon must be applied correctly. "Less is more" with this concentrated formula.

1. Cleanse: Gently clean and dry the affected area before application.
2. Apply Sparingly: Squeeze a small, pea-sized amount of cream onto your fingertips.
3. Massage: Gently massage the cream into the skin until it disappears.
4. The "Oily" Test: If the skin feels oily or greasy after application, you have used too much.
5. Reapplication: For incontinence care, reapply every 24 hours (or every 3–4 washes).

Is Cavilon safe for use with incontinence pads?

• Yes. Unlike many traditional creams, Cavilon’s polymer-based formula will not clog pad linings or reduce their absorbency, keeping the skin drier for longer.

Can I use this on broken or infected skin?

• Cavilon Durable Barrier Cream is designed for intact or irritated skin. It should not be used on infected areas (e.g., fungal infections). If the skin is truly broken or weeping, we recommend using Cavilon No-Sting Barrier Filminstead.

How is this different from a standard nappy rash cream?

• Standard creams often contain zinc or petrolatum, which create a thick, messy layer that washes away easily. Cavilon uses a transparent polymer that "bonds" to the skin for multi-wash protection that you can't even feel once applied.
