Anadin Tablets

• Adults and the elderly: take 1 to 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours as needed, with or after food.
• Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time, and do not exceed the dose stated in the leaflet.
• For oral, short-term use only.
• Not for anyone under 16.

Safety information

Who should not use it

Do not use if you are under 16 (risk of Reye's syndrome); if you are allergic to aspirin or other anti-inflammatory painkillers (NSAIDs); if you have a stomach ulcer or a history of stomach bleeding; if you have a bleeding problem or take anticoagulants such as warfarin; if you have severe heart, kidney or liver problems; in the last three months of pregnancy; or if aspirin or similar painkillers bring on your asthma.

Warnings & precautions

Take with or after food. Do not take other aspirin- or NSAID-containing medicines at the same time. Tell your pharmacist if you take anticoagulants, methotrexate or other medicines, and mind your total caffeine intake. Stop and seek urgent help if you notice signs of stomach bleeding (black stools, or vomit that looks like coffee grounds) or an allergic reaction.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding

Do not use while breastfeeding. In pregnancy, ask your doctor or pharmacist and avoid use in the last trimester.

Possible side effects

Indigestion, heartburn and nausea; stomach irritation or bleeding; ringing in the ears; gout in people prone to it; and, from the caffeine, tremor or palpitations. Rarely, allergic reactions.
