How to use

How to Take Paralief Paracetamol Tablets

Always follow the dosage instructions exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as directed by your healthcare professional.

Adults & Adolescents >15 yrs (>55kg)

  • Take 1 to 2 tablets (500–1000mg) with at least 4 hours between doses. Max of 6 tablets in 24 hours.

Children 12–15 yrs (40–55kg)

  • Take 1 tablet (500mg) with at least 4 hours between doses. Max of 4 tablets in 24 hours.

Children 9–12 yrs (30–40kg)

  • Take 1 tablet (500mg) with at least 4 hours between doses. Max of 4 tablets in 24 hours.

Children 6–9 yrs (22–30kg)

  • Take half a tablet (250mg) with at least 4 hours between doses. Max of 4 doses (1000mg) in 24 hours.

  • Interval: Always leave at least 4 hours between doses.
  • Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with plenty of water, or place it in a large amount of water to disintegrate, stir well, and drink.
  • Duration: Seek medical advice if pain persists for more than 5 days or fever lasts more than 3 days

Important Safety Information

DO NOT take Paralief if:

  • You are allergic to paracetamol or any other ingredients listed in the pack.
  • You are already taking any other paracetamol-containing products (including cold and flu remedies), as this can lead to severe liver damage.

Warnings & Precautions

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before use if you:

  • Have kidney or liver disease (including Gilbert's syndrome).
  • Have a low body weight (less than 50kg) or suffer from chronic malnutrition or dehydration.
  • Regularly consume large amounts of alcohol.
  • Are asthmatic and sensitive to aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid).

Pregnancy & Breast-feeding

  • Pregnancy: Paralief can be used during pregnancy if necessary. Use the lowest possible dose for the shortest time possible.
  • Breast-feeding: Paracetamol is excreted in breast milk in small amounts but is generally considered safe for breast-feeding women at recommended doses.

Possible Side Effects

Side effects are rare but can include:

  • Rare: Allergic reactions, skin rash, dizziness, or stomach discomfort.
  • Very Rare: Serious skin reactions (such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome) or difficulty breathing.

Overdose Warning: Seek immediate medical advice in the event of an overdose, even if you feel well, due to the risk of delayed, serious liver damage
