Suresign Vaginal pH Rapid Test 2 Pack

• Wait at least 72 hours after using any vaginal product (creams, pessaries, gels or douches), 48 hours after sex, and 5 days after your period ends. Do not wash or shower just before testing.
• Wash your hands and let the test reach room temperature. Open the pouch and use the test within 1 hour.
• Insert the swab about 5cm into the vagina and hold it there for about 10 seconds.
• Wipe the swab across the indicator at least 5 times, then read the colour straight away, while it is still wet, against the chart on the pouch.
• pH 3.8 to 4.4 (yellow-green): normal. Over 4.4 (green-blue): raised, which can be a sign of BV or trichomoniasis. Under 3.8 (orange-yellow): low, which can occur with thrush.
• If the result is abnormal, test again a few hours later or the next day, and see your doctor.

Who should not use it

Do not test during your period or within 5 days after it, within 48 hours of sex, or within 72 hours of using a vaginal product, as these can give a false result.

Warnings & precautions

This test supports, but does not replace, a diagnosis by a doctor. After the menopause, vaginal pH can be raised without any infection. Up to half of women with BV or trichomoniasis have no symptoms, and a normal result does not rule out a sexually transmitted infection. Insert the swab gently, as rough use could damage the hymen.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding

If you are pregnant and have symptoms such as unusual discharge, odour or itching, see your GP or midwife rather than relying on a home test.

Possible side effects

None expected. Stop if inserting the swab is painful.
