Gaviscon Extra Oral Solution Peppermint 300ml

• Shake the bottle well before use.
• Adults and children aged 12 years and over: take 10ml to 20ml after meals and at bedtime, up to four times a day.
• Not for children under 12 years except on the advice of a doctor.
• Do not take within two hours of taking other medicines.
• See your doctor if your symptoms persist after 7 days.

Who should not use it

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any of the ingredients, or if you have been told you have very low blood phosphate levels (hypophosphataemia).

Warnings & precautions

Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before use if you have significant kidney or heart disease. The maximum daily dose contains 1,023mg of sodium, and each 20ml dose contains 260mg of calcium - relevant if you are on a low-sodium diet or watching your calcium intake. Do not take within two hours of other medicines. Antacids can mask the symptoms of a more serious condition, so see your doctor if symptoms keep returning.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding

You can take this product if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning to have a baby.

Possible side effects

Very rarely an allergic reaction, which can include abdominal pain, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting or a skin rash. Stop taking it and get medical help straight away if that happens.

Each 10ml of oral suspension contains sodium alginate 500mg, sodium bicarbonate 213mg and calcium carbonate 325mg. The maximum daily dose contains 1,023mg sodium; each 20ml dose contains 260mg calcium.
