Senokot Sennosides 7.5mg Tablets

Directions for Use

Always take this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.

For adults and children aged 12 years and over:

• Take 2 to 4 tablets at night.
• Swallow whole with a glass of water.
• Do not take for more than one week unless under medical advice.
• It is usually sufficient to take Senokot two to three times per week.

If symptoms persist or you have no bowel movement within 3 days, seek medical advice.

Possible Side Effects

Like all medicines, Senokot can cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them.

Common or occasional effects may include:

• Abdominal cramps or diarrhoea
• Mild nausea or stomach discomfort
• Harmless red-brown urine discolouration
• Rarely, allergic skin reactions such as rash or itching

Prolonged or excessive use can lead to fluid or electrolyte imbalance; stop use and consult your doctor if symptoms such as weakness, dizziness or dehydration occur.

Warnings and Precautions

Do not take Senokot if you:

• Are allergic to senna or any of the ingredients
• Have bowel obstruction, inflammatory bowel disease, or unexplained abdominal pain
• Are severely dehydrated
• Are under 12 years old

Avoid long-term or daily use. Speak to your pharmacist or GP if constipation persists for more than a week.

Storage:Keep below 25°C in the original packaging, out of reach of children.

• Sennosides 7.5mg per tablet (from Senna pods – Cassia senna L.)

Other ingredients:

• Calcium phosphate, maize starch, magnesium stearate, lactose monohydrate.
