How to use

How to Fit Earplugs Correctly

To achieve the full 31dB of protection, correct insertion is vital. Most users who find earplugs "ineffective" are simply not inserting them deep enough.

  1. Roll: With clean hands, roll the earplug into a tight, thin cylinder.
  2. Pull: Reach over your head and pull the top of your ear upward and outward to straighten the ear canal.
  3. Insert: Slide the earplug well into the ear canal.
  4. Hold: Hold it in place with your fingertip for about 30–40 seconds until the foam fully expands to create a seal.

Can I wash and reuse these earplugs?

The 3M E-A-R Classic is designed as a disposable earplug. While the foam is moisture-resistant, it is also porous; over time, it can trap earwax and bacteria. For hygiene and to maintain the best acoustic seal, we recommend replacing them after each use or as soon as they become soiled.

What does the SNR 31dB rating mean?

SNR stands for Single Number Rating. It is the average amount of noise (in decibels) the earplug will block out. For example, if you are in an environment with 100dB of noise, these earplugs will reduce the sound hitting your eardrum to approximately 69dB.
