Anusol HC Ointment 15g

• Adults over 18 years only. Cleanse and gently dry the anal area first, and wash your hands before and after use.
• Apply the ointment sparingly at night, in the morning and after each bowel movement, up to a maximum of 4 times a day.
• For external piles, apply with a gauze dressing; for internal piles, use the rectal nozzle provided and clean it after each use.
• Do not use for more than 7 consecutive days. If symptoms do not improve, or you notice rectal bleeding, consult your doctor.

Who should not use it

Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients (it contains lanolin/wool fat and Peru balsam); if you have a fungal, viral or bacterial infection in the area (such as herpes or cold sores); if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; or if you are under 18 years of age.

Warnings & precautions

This product contains a steroid (hydrocortisone). Do not use it for longer than 7 days without medical advice, as prolonged use in this area can thin the skin and may mask an underlying problem. See your doctor before use if you have any rectal bleeding or blood in your stool. Contact your doctor if you notice blurred vision or other visual disturbances.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding

Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Possible side effects

Occasionally local irritation or a burning sensation. With prolonged use the skin in the area may thin. Stop use and seek advice if you have an allergic reaction.

Each 100g contains hydrocortisone acetate 0.25g, zinc oxide 10.75g, bismuth subgallate 2.25g, Peru balsam (balsam of Peru) 1.875g, bismuth oxide 0.875g and benzyl benzoate 1.25g. Also contains lanolin (wool fat).
