Benylin Dry Cough Syrup Non-Drowsy 125ml

• Adults and children 12 years and over: two 5ml spoonfuls (10ml) up to four times a day.
• Do not take more than 4 doses in 24 hours.
• Not suitable for children under 12 years.
• This medicine is for short-term use only. If your cough lasts more than a few days or gets worse, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Who should not use it

Do not use if you are allergic to dextromethorphan or any of the ingredients; if you take (or have taken in the last 2 weeks) MAOI antidepressants; if you take SSRI antidepressants (such as fluoxetine, paroxetine or sertraline); if you are at risk of respiratory failure; or for children under 12. It contains sugars, so it is unsuitable if you have rare hereditary fructose intolerance or glucose-galactose malabsorption.

Warnings & precautions

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before use if you have liver or kidney problems, or a history of drug or alcohol dependence. This medicine can lead to dependence, so use it only for a short time. Avoid alcohol and other medicines that make you sleepy, and do not take it with other cough and cold medicines. It contains sugars and a small amount of alcohol.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding

Ask your doctor or pharmacist before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Possible side effects

Occasionally dizziness, nausea or stomach upset. Stop use and seek advice if you have an allergic reaction, or signs of a rare but serious reaction (agitation, confusion, a fast heartbeat) that can occur if combined with certain antidepressants.

Each 5ml contains dextromethorphan hydrobromide 7.5mg. Also contains sucrose, liquid glucose, sorbitol, glycerol, ethanol and levomenthol.
