Calpol Infant 2m+ Strawberry

• Shake the bottle well and measure the dose with the syringe or spoon supplied - never a kitchen spoon.
• Babies 2 to 3 months, for fever after immunisation: 2.5ml. If needed, give a second 2.5ml dose 4 to 6 hours later. Do not give more than two doses. Talk to your doctor if the fever continues.
• Babies 2 to 3 months, for any other pain or fever: only give it if your baby weighs over 4kg and was born after 37 weeks. Otherwise speak to your doctor first.
• 3 to 6 months: 2.5ml, up to four times a day.
• 6 to 24 months: 5ml, up to four times a day.
• 2 to 4 years: 7.5ml, up to four times a day.
• 4 to 6 years: 10ml, up to four times a day.
• Leave at least 4 hours between doses and never give more than 4 doses in 24 hours.
• Do not give it for more than 3 days without talking to your doctor or pharmacist.
• Not for babies under 2 months.

Safety information

Who should not use it

Do not give this medicine to a baby under 2 months old, to a baby weighing less than 4kg, to a child who has ever had a bad reaction to paracetamol or is allergic to any of the ingredients, or to a child who is already taking any other medicine containing paracetamol.

Warnings & precautions

Never give this alongside another paracetamol-containing medicine - paracetamol is in many children's pain, cold and teething products, so check the label of anything else you are giving. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor first if your child has liver or kidney problems, or is taking the antibiotic flucloxacillin. Give the dose for your child's age and no more: an overdose of paracetamol can cause serious and irreversible liver damage, even if your child seems well at first. If your child accidentally takes too much, get medical help straight away.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding

This is a medicine for babies and children. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding and looking for paracetamol for yourself, ask your pharmacist which product to use.

Possible side effects

Side effects are uncommon. Allergic reactions can occur, and very rarely serious skin reactions or changes in the blood. Stop giving it and get medical help straight away if your child develops a rash, blistering or peeling skin, swelling of the face or throat, or difficulty breathing.

Each 5ml of oral suspension contains paracetamol 120mg. Also contains sucrose and sorbitol, parahydroxybenzoates (parabens) and carmoisine (E122), which may cause allergic reactions.
