Calpol Six Plus Fastmelts 12 Tablets

• Place the tablet on the tongue and suck it gently, or dissolve it in a teaspoon of water or milk and give it straight away.
• 6 to 9 years: 1 tablet.
• 9 to 12 years: 2 tablets.
• 12 to 16 years: 2 to 3 tablets.
• Adults and children over 16 years: 2 to 4 tablets.
• Give a maximum of 4 doses in 24 hours, leaving at least 4 hours between each dose. Never give more than the recommended dose.
• Do not give it for more than 3 days without talking to your doctor or pharmacist.
• Not for children under 6 years.

Who should not use it

Do not give these tablets to a child who has ever had a bad reaction to paracetamol or is allergic to any of the ingredients, to a child who is already taking any other medicine containing paracetamol, or to a child who has phenylketonuria (PKU) - the tablets contain aspartame, a source of phenylalanine. Not recommended under 6 years.

Warnings & precautions

Never give these alongside another paracetamol-containing medicine. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor first if your child has liver or kidney problems. Give the dose for your child's age and no more: an overdose of paracetamol can cause serious and irreversible liver damage, even if your child seems well at first. If your child accidentally takes too much, get medical help straight away. These tablets also contain benzyl alcohol.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding

This is a medicine for children. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding and looking for paracetamol for yourself, ask your pharmacist which product to use.

Possible side effects

Side effects are uncommon. Allergic reactions can occur, and very rarely serious skin reactions. Stop giving them and get medical help straight away if your child develops a rash, blistering or peeling skin, swelling of the face or throat, or difficulty breathing.

Each orodispersible tablet contains paracetamol 250mg. Contains aspartame (8mg, a source of phenylalanine) and benzyl alcohol.
