Lemsip Max Cold & Flu Blackcurrant 1000mg 10 pack

• Empty one sachet into a mug, fill with hot but not boiling water and stir. Let it cool to a comfortable drinking temperature.
• Adults, the elderly and children aged 16 and over: one sachet up to four times a day, leaving at least 4 hours between doses.
• Do not take more than 4 sachets in 24 hours.
• Not for anyone under 16 years - a 500mg Lemsip sachet is the suitable strength for 12 to 15 year olds.
• Talk to your doctor if your symptoms have not improved after 3 days.

Who should not use it

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to paracetamol or any of the ingredients, if you are already taking any other medicine containing paracetamol, or if you are under 16 years of age.

Warnings & precautions

Never take this alongside another paracetamol-containing product. At 1000mg a sachet this is a full adult dose of paracetamol, so doubling up is easily done and can cause serious liver damage. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist first if you have liver or kidney problems, or if you regularly drink a lot of alcohol. If you weigh under 50kg, are dehydrated or undernourished, or drink heavily, do not take more than 2 sachets in 24 hours. Tell your pharmacist if you take warfarin, metoclopramide, domperidone, cholestyramine or the antibiotic flucloxacillin.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding

Paracetamol can be used in pregnancy if needed - take the lowest dose that works, for the shortest time. It passes into breast milk only in tiny amounts, so it can be used while breastfeeding. Ask your pharmacist if you are unsure.

Possible side effects

Side effects are uncommon. Allergic reactions such as a skin rash can occur, and very rarely more serious skin reactions or changes in the blood. Stop taking it and get medical help straight away if you develop a rash, blistering, swelling of the face or throat, or difficulty breathing.
