Nurofen 5% Ibuprofen Pain Relieving Gel 30g

• Adults and children aged 12 and over: squeeze 1 to 2.5g of gel (about 4 to 10cm) onto your fingertips and massage it gently into the painful area until absorbed.
• Leave at least 4 hours between applications and do not apply more than 4 times in 24 hours. Do not use more than 10g of gel (500mg of ibuprofen) a day.
• Wash your hands immediately after use.
• If your symptoms get worse, or have not improved after 7 days, stop and see your doctor.
• Not for children under 12.

Who should not use it

Do not use if you are allergic to ibuprofen, aspirin or other anti-inflammatory painkillers (NSAIDs) or any of the ingredients; if you have ever had an asthma attack, a runny nose or a rash after taking these medicines; on broken, damaged or inflamed skin; in the last three months of pregnancy; or on children under 12.

Warnings & precautions

For use on the skin only. Keep away from the eyes, nose, mouth and lips. Do not cover with an airtight or waterproof dressing. Protect the treated area from strong sunlight and sunbeds. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before use if you have asthma, or if you are using any other ibuprofen or NSAID medicine. Contains benzyl alcohol, which may cause mild local irritation.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding

Do not use in the last three months of pregnancy. Earlier in pregnancy, only use it if clearly necessary and your doctor advises it. If you are breastfeeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist before use.

Possible side effects

Mild redness, tingling or itching where the gel is applied, and occasionally stomach pain or indigestion. Stop using it and get medical help straight away if you have signs of an allergic reaction (swelling of the face or throat, wheezing, difficulty breathing), a severe skin reaction (blistering or peeling), or if your asthma gets worse.
