Product Information

Smidge Insect Repellent is a DEET-free, alcohol-free repellent made by APS Biocontrol in Scotland. Its active ingredient is 20% icaridin (also known as picaridin or Saltidin), in a light, non-sticky milky lotion that comes in a pump spray. It is designed to keep biting insects such as midges, mosquitoes and ticks away from exposed skin when you are outdoors.

According to Smidge, one application protects for up to 8 hours and stays put through sweat and water. The 30ml size slips easily into a pocket, rucksack or hand luggage.

How to use
  • Spray into the palm of your hand and smooth evenly over all exposed skin.
  • Do not spray directly onto the face. Apply to the face with your hand, keeping away from the eyes and lips.
  • Reapply no more often than every 8 hours.
  • Maximum applications per day (per the Smidge label): 2 for children aged 2 to 12 years; 3 for those aged 12 and over.
  • Suitable for adults and children over 24 months (UK label). Check the pack for the age guidance on your bottle.

Safety information

Causes serious eye irritation. Keep out of reach of children. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. If swallowed, contact a poison centre or doctor straight away and have the pack to hand. If in the eyes, rinse cautiously with water for several minutes; remove contact lenses if present and easy to do, and continue rinsing. Keep away from food, drink and animal feed. Avoid release to the environment. Use biocides safely. Always read the label and product information before use.

Active ingredient: Icaridin (Saltidin, sec-butyl 2-(2-hydroxyethyl)piperidine-1-carboxylate, CAS 119515-38-7) 20g/100g.

Contains fragrance allergens: Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Linalool. Alcohol-free and DEET-free.
