Sudafed Nasal Spray 0.1% Xylometazoline 15ml

• Adults and children aged 6 and over: one spray into each nostril, 2 to 3 times a day. Do not use more than 3 doses in 24 hours.
• Before first use, prime the pump by pressing it down until a single spray comes out.
• For children aged 6 to 12, talk to your pharmacist or doctor before use.
• Do not use it for more than 5 days in a row. Talk to a doctor if you are no better, or feel worse, after 5 days.
• Do not use it with other cough or cold medicines. Use it only when simple measures have not given enough relief.

Who should not use it

Do not use it if you are allergic to xylometazoline or any of the ingredients, if you take or have taken in the last 2 weeks an MAOI antidepressant, if you have recently had brain surgery, or if you have had your pituitary gland removed. Not for children under 6.

Warnings & precautions

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist first if you have high blood pressure, heart disease (such as long QT syndrome), diabetes or an overactive thyroid. If it is used continuously for long periods, the congestion can come back. It contains benzalkonium chloride, which can cause irritation or swelling inside the nose, especially with long-term use. It also contains sorbitol: if you have been told you have an intolerance to some sugars, check with your doctor first, as some may be swallowed. It has no or negligible effect on driving.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning a baby.

Possible side effects

Occasionally: burning, soreness, dryness, stinging or itching inside the nose, and sneezing. Uncommon: nosebleeds. Congestion can return with long-term use.

Xylometazoline hydrochloride 0.1% w/v (140 micrograms per spray). Contains benzalkonium chloride (0.04% w/v) and sorbitol. Other ingredients: disodium edetate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, disodium phosphate dihydrate, sodium chloride, purified water.
