The Science of the Skin Barrier
UV rays, hot showers, and harsh soaps all damage the skin barrier. CeraVe Body products address this by incorporating:
- 3 Essential Ceramides: To restore the skin's natural barrier and address damage.
- Hyaluronic Acid: To help retain the skin's natural moisture.
- Fragrance-Free Formulas: To ensure high tolerance on sensitive and atopic-prone skin.
Target Your Skin Concern
CeraVe Body products are categorized by their texture and the specific skin needs they address:
Daily Hydration & Barrier Support
- Moisturising Cream: A rich, non-greasy formula for Dry to Very Dry skin. It is ideal for particularly dry areas like elbows, knees, and shins.
- Daily Moisturising Lotion: A lightweight, oil-free alternative for Normal to Dry skin. It absorbs instantly, making it perfect for daily use after a shower.
Smoothing & Exfoliating
- SA Smoothing Cream: Formulated for Dry, Rough, and Bumpy skin. It contains Salicylic Acid and Urea to gently exfoliate dead skin cells while Ceramides and Hyaluronic Acid hydrate and smooth the skin's surface.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the Lotion and the Cream?
The Moisturising Lotion has a lighter, more fluid consistency, making it ideal for the entire body during warmer months or for those with slightly dry skin. The Moisturising Cream is much thicker and richer, designed to provide intensive hydration for very dry skin or harsh winter conditions.
Is CeraVe Body safe for children?
Yes. Many products in the range, including the Moisturising Cream and the Invisible Hydrating Sunscreen, are formulated to be suitable for both adults and children.
Can I use the SA Smoothing Cream on my face?
While specifically designed for the body's rougher skin (like keratosis pliaris), it can be used on the face if you have very rough skin texture. However, we generally recommend the SA Smoothing Cleanser for facial use as it is more targeted for delicate facial skin.
