What is Weleda Skin Food and who is it for?
Weleda Skin Food is the brand's best-known cream and it is made for dry, rough skin. Organic chamomile, calendula and wild pansy help to soothe the skin, while almond oils and waxes leave a protective layer against wind and weather. It is a thick, rich cream, so a very small amount goes a long way. If you want the same idea in a lighter texture, Skin Food Light is the everyday alternative in the same 75ml tube size.
Can I use Skin Food on my face, or is it only for the body?
Both. The description for Skin Food states it can be used on the body, face and hands, which is why so many customers keep one tube going for elbows, knees, cuticles and dry patches. For lips specifically there is Weleda Skin Food Lip Stick, a stick format with natural plant oils, botanical extracts and beeswax to help lock in moisture on dry, chapped lips.

Which Weleda product suits bath time?
Weleda Baby & Child Calendula Bath 200ml is an extra-mild bath additive that pairs calendula with sweet almond oil and organic sesame oil to cleanse without drying the skin. For hair and body in one go, Baby Calendula Shampoo & Body Wash is the tear-free option. Afterwards, Weleda Baby All Purpose Balm 25g is handy for dry patches, chapped skin and dry lips — it is made with organic sunflower and avocado oils, cocoa seed butter and calendula.
What can I use during and after pregnancy?
Weleda Stretch Mark Massage Oil 100ml is designed to be massaged in during and after pregnancy to help skin keep its natural tone and resilience, using sweet almond oil, vitamin E rich wheatgerm oil and extract of organic arnica, with rose, neroli and myrrh for the scent. Massage it in daily rather than occasionally — the routine matters as much as the oil itself. It is suitable for vegans.
Is there something for sore nipples while breastfeeding?
Weleda Nipple Balm 25g was developed with midwives and pharmacists for sore nipples, cracked skin and chafing. It is fragrance free, contains organic calendula extract, is suitable for frequent use and, importantly, does not need to be removed before breastfeeding. If skin is cracked or bleeding, or you suspect thrush or mastitis, please talk to your midwife, public health nurse or GP as well as using a balm.
What is the difference between the two Arnica products?
Weleda Sport Arnica Massage Oil 100ml is a warming oil with arnica flower extract, sunflower seed oil and olive oil, naturally fragranced with lavender and rosemary — use it before exercise to warm up muscles or afterwards to massage tired ones. Weleda Arnica Cooling Gel 25g does the opposite job: a lightweight, non-sticky vegan gel made from organic arnica extracts that cools the skin, and it can also be applied before and after exercise. The gel is Weleda's replacement for the older Arnica Bumps and Bruises Skin Salve.
How natural are Weleda products, and are they alright for sensitive skin?
Weleda formulates with plant-based and naturally derived ingredients — Baby Calendula Shampoo & Body Wash, for example, is described as free from synthetic fragrances, colourants and harsh chemicals and is dermatologically tested for sensitive skin. Bear in mind that natural does not automatically mean non-allergenic: several products are scented with essential oils such as lavender, rosemary, rose or neroli, and some people react to these. If your skin is reactive, patch test on the inner forearm first. And if a skin problem is severe, spreading or simply not improving, see your GP or ask one of our pharmacists rather than persevering with a cosmetic product.
Which Weleda products are vegan or vegetarian?

My face is sensitive — which Weleda cleanser should I choose?
Weleda Sensitive Gentle Milk Cleanser 75ml is the one to look at. It is a milk-texture cleanser made to lift impurities while supporting the skin's natural barrier, so skin is left hydrated rather than tight, and it is intended for everyday use on sensitive skin. Follow it with Skin Food Light or the original Skin Food, depending on how dry your skin feels that day.
What sizes do these come in, and how long will a tube last?
The range is compact rather than bulk: Skin Food and the baby body cream in 75ml, the baby face cream in 50ml, the balms in 25g, the massage oils in 100ml, and the baby bath and shampoo in 200ml. Used on the face or on specific dry patches, a 75ml tube of Skin Food will usually last months; used as an all-over body cream it disappears far faster, which is why many customers reserve it for hands, elbows and heels and use a lighter lotion elsewhere. Warm it between your palms for a few seconds until it turns almost translucent, then press it onto slightly damp skin instead of dragging it around.
