DulcoEase Hydrate for Constipation 20 Sachets

• Adults and children aged 8 and over: unless your doctor advises otherwise, take 1 to 2 sachets a day, ideally as a single dose in the morning.
• Just before taking it, stir the contents of one sachet into a glass of about 150ml of water or another drink. It has no taste, so it can be mixed into hot or cold drinks such as still or sparkling water, apple or orange juice, iced tea or hot water.
• It usually works within 24 to 72 hours and can be taken from the first signs of discomfort.
• Use the lowest amount that gives you regular, soft stools. This can range from one sachet every other day up to two sachets a day.
• It can be used for up to 28 days. After that, see your doctor so the cause of your constipation can be checked; they will advise whether to continue.
• Not recommended for children under 8. For younger children, DulcoEase Hydrate Oral Solution can be used from 6 months.

Who should not use it

Do not use DulcoEase Hydrate if you are allergic to macrogol, or if you have severe inflammatory bowel disease (such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease), a blocked bowel, a perforated bowel or a risk of one, or tummy pain with no known cause.

Warnings & precautions

If your constipation is new or unexplained, speak to your doctor first to rule out other causes. If you are elderly, or have heart or kidney problems, ask your doctor or pharmacist before use, as your salt levels may need to be checked. DulcoEase Hydrate can affect how well other medicines taken at the same time are absorbed, so check with your pharmacist if you take other medicines. Stop using it if you notice signs of an allergic reaction.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding

DulcoEase Hydrate can be used during pregnancy and while breastfeeding, but it is advisable to ask your doctor before using it.

Possible side effects

Possible side effects include diarrhoea, tummy pain or bloating, wind, and feeling or being sick. Rarely, allergic reactions can occur. Stop using it and get medical help straight away if you have a rash, swelling of the face, lips or throat, or difficulty breathing.
