Gaviscon Advance Oral Suspension Aniseed Flavour

• Shake the bottle well before use.
• Adults and children aged 12 years and over: take 5ml to 10ml after meals and at bedtime.
• Not for children under 12 years except on the advice of a doctor.
• Leave at least two hours between this medicine and any other medicine you take.
• Talk to your doctor if you do not feel better, or feel worse, after 7 days.

Who should not use it

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.

Warnings & precautions

Each 5ml dose contains 57.85mg of sodium (about 2.9% of the recommended maximum daily intake) and 39.06mg (1.0mmol) of potassium - talk to your pharmacist first if you are on a low-sodium diet, have kidney problems or have been told to watch your potassium intake. Leave a two-hour gap between this medicine and tetracycline or fluoroquinolone antibiotics, iron salts, thyroid hormones, chloroquine, bisphosphonates or estramustine, as it can stop them being absorbed properly.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding

You can take this product if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Possible side effects

Uncommonly, diarrhoea, nausea or vomiting. Very rarely an allergic reaction - skin rash, itching, difficulty breathing, dizziness or swelling. Stop taking it and get medical help straight away if that happens.

Each 10ml of oral suspension contains sodium alginate 1000mg and potassium hydrogen carbonate 200mg. Contains 57.85mg sodium and 39.06mg potassium per 5ml dose.
