Gaviscon Liquid Aniseed

• Shake the bottle well before use.
• Adults and children aged 12 years and over: take 10ml to 20ml (two to four 5ml spoonfuls) after meals and at bedtime.
• Children under 12 years: only on the advice of a doctor. Not suitable for children under 6 years.
• Leave at least two hours between this medicine and any other medicine you take.
• See your doctor if your symptoms persist after 7 days.

Who should not use it

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. Not for children under 6 years.

Warnings & precautions

Each 10ml contains 142.6mg of sodium, and the maximum daily dose comes to around 57% of the WHO recommended maximum daily sodium intake - talk to your pharmacist first if you are on a low-sodium diet or have significant kidney or heart disease. Each 10ml dose also contains 1.6mmol of calcium. Contains methyl (E218) and propyl (E216) parahydroxybenzoates and benzyl alcohol, which may cause allergic reactions. If you are over 40 and have heartburn for the first time, or your usual symptoms change, see your doctor. Leave a two-hour gap before or after other medicines.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding

You can take this product if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, but keep the treatment period as short as possible.

Possible side effects

Very rarely (fewer than 1 in 10,000 people) an allergic reaction - rash, itching, difficulty breathing, dizziness or swelling of the face or throat. Stop taking it and get medical help straight away if that happens.

Each 10ml of oral suspension contains sodium alginate 500mg, sodium bicarbonate 267mg and calcium carbonate 160mg. Also contains methyl (E218) and propyl (E216) parahydroxybenzoates and benzyl alcohol, which may cause allergic reactions.
