Directions for cold therapy:

• Relieve pain & swelling: Place the cold pack in the freezer for a couple of hours, then apply it to the breast for 20 minutes at a time
• Engorgement: Reduce swelling and pain associated with engorgement
• Mastitis & plugged ducts: Reduce pain and swelling associated with plugged ducts

Directions for hot therapy:

• Encourage milk let-down: Heat the pack in a hot (but not boiling) water bath for up to 15 seconds, then apply it to the breast for 20 minutes
• Relieve mastitis &plugged ducts: Relieve mastitis and plugged ducts
• Breast pump: Heat the pack and wrap it around the outside of the pump's funnel to encourage milk flow and reduce pumping time
