• Adults: chew one or two tablets four times a day.
• Take them 20 minutes to one hour after meals and at bedtime, or as required.
• Not recommended for children.
• Do not take at the same time as other medicines - antacids can stop them being absorbed properly.
• Do not take this medicine for long periods unless your doctor tells you to.

Who should not use it

Do not take these tablets if you are allergic to any of the ingredients, if you have kidney problems, if you have been told your blood phosphate is low (hypophosphataemia), or if you are very frail or debilitated. Not recommended for children.

Warnings & precautions

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before use if you have porphyria or diabetes. This medicine contains glucose and sucrose, and sulphur dioxide, which may rarely cause allergic reactions. Do not take it at the same time as other medicines, including some heart medicines, antibiotics and antiretrovirals, as it can affect how well they are absorbed. Do not take it for prolonged periods, as it may mask a more serious condition such as a stomach ulcer or stomach cancer.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Possible side effects

Uncommonly, constipation or diarrhoea. Rarely, changes in the balance of salts in the blood, particularly with long-term use or if you have kidney problems. Allergic reactions are possible - stop taking it and seek advice if you develop a rash, itching or swelling.

Each chewable tablet contains hydrated aluminium oxide 200mg, magnesium hydroxide 200mg and dimeticone 25mg (as simeticone). Also contains glucose, sucrose and sulphur dioxide.
