Maalox Plus Oral Suspension Lemon Flavour 250ml

• The usual dose is 5 to 10ml, taken after meals and at bedtime, or as needed - check the leaflet for the exact dose.
• Do not use the maximum dose for more than 2 weeks unless your doctor tells you to.
• Leave a 2-hour gap between Maalox Plus and other medicines, as it can affect how they are absorbed.

Who should not use it

Do not use if you are allergic to aluminium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, simeticone or any ingredient, or if you have very low blood phosphate levels. Not for children under 2. Ask your doctor first if you have kidney problems.

Warnings & precautions

Because of the aluminium content, do not take at the same time as tetracycline antibiotics, and separate it from other medicines (for example digoxin or iron) by about 2 hours. See your doctor if symptoms persist for more than 2 weeks.

Possible side effects

Changes in bowel habit - the aluminium can cause constipation and the magnesium can loosen the stools. High doses over a long time may affect mineral levels, especially with kidney problems.
