Rhinex Relief Mometasone Nasal Spray For Hayfever

• Before using a new bottle for the first time, pump it 10 times until a fine mist comes out. If you have not used it for 14 days or more, pump it twice to prime it again.
• Blow your nose gently. Close one nostril with a finger, put the nozzle into the other nostril and tilt your head forward slightly, keeping the bottle upright.
• Start breathing in slowly through your nose and press the pump once to release a spray. Breathe out through your mouth. Repeat for any second spray, then do the same in the other nostril.
• Usual dose: two sprays into each nostril once a day.
• Once your symptoms are under control, reduce to one spray into each nostril once a day. If your symptoms get worse again, go back to two sprays into each nostril once a day.
• It begins to relieve symptoms about 12 hours after the first dose, but full benefit may take up to two days.
• Talk to a doctor if you do not feel better, or feel worse, after 14 days. Do not use it continuously for more than 3 months without medical advice.

Who should not use it

Not for anyone under 18. Do not use if you are allergic to mometasone furoate or any of the ingredients, if you have an untreated infection in your nose (such as herpes), or if you have recently had an operation on your nose or injured it.

Warnings & precautions

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before use if you have or have ever had tuberculosis, have any other infection, take other corticosteroid medicines by mouth or injection, or have cystic fibrosis. If your immune system is weakened and you come into contact with measles or chickenpox, see your doctor. Tell your doctor if you develop an infection of the nose or throat, or persistent irritation of the nose or throat. Some medicines can increase its effects, including the HIV medicines ritonavir and cobicistat. Contact your doctor if you notice blurred vision or other changes to your sight.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding

There is little information on its use in pregnancy, and it is not known whether it passes into breast milk. Ask your doctor or pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, planning a baby or breastfeeding.

Possible side effects

Headache, sneezing, nosebleeds, a sore nose, ulcers in the nose and respiratory tract infections are common. Stop using it and get medical help straight away if you have an allergic reaction, such as a rash, swelling of the face, lips or tongue, or difficulty breathing.
