Robitussin Dry Cough 7.5mg/5ml Dextromethorpan Sugar Free Oral Solution 100ml

• Adults and children 12 years and over: one 10ml measure, three or four times a day.
• Do not take more than 4 doses in 24 hours.
• Not suitable for children under 12 years.
• For short-term use. If your cough lasts more than 7 days, comes back, or comes with a fever, rash or persistent headache, talk to your doctor.

Who should not use it

Do not use if you are allergic to dextromethorphan or any of the ingredients; if you have a chest infection, worsening asthma or severe breathing problems; if you take SSRI antidepressants; if you take fluoxetine or an MAOI antidepressant (or have in the last 14 days); or for children under 12. It contains sorbitol and maltitol, so it is unsuitable if you have hereditary fructose intolerance.

Warnings & precautions

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before use if you have a long-standing cough or asthma. This medicine can lead to dependence, so use it only for a short time. Avoid alcohol, and do not take it with other cough and cold medicines. Tell your pharmacist if you take heart-rhythm medicines or medicines for depression, psychiatric conditions or Parkinson's disease. It contains a small amount of alcohol and the colour amaranth (E123), which may cause allergic reactions.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding

Ask your doctor or pharmacist before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Possible side effects

Occasionally nausea, dizziness or drowsiness. Stop use and seek advice if you have an allergic reaction, or signs of a rare but serious reaction (agitation, confusion, a fast heartbeat) that can occur if it is combined with certain antidepressants.
