Product Information

Strepsils Plus Lozenges contain Lidocaine and are used as an antiseptic and local anaesthetic for the relief of a sore throat and its associated pain. Each lozenge contains a combination of 2 antibacterials to help kill the bacteria which can cause sore throats and mouth infections and a powerful local anaesthetic which rapidly numbs the pain.

How to use

Who can use Strepsils Plus Lozenges?

This product is for use in adults, children 12 years and over.  

How to use?

Dissolve one lozenge slowly in the mouth every 2-3 hours. Do not take more than 8 in 24 hours. 

Strepsils +Plus Anaesthetic Lozenges contain Amylmetacresol 0.6mg, 2, 4-Diclorobenzyl Alcohol 1.2mg, Lidocaine Hydrochloride 10mg for the relief of mouth and throat infections.

Not suitable for children under 12 years.

  • Always read the information on the carton and the leaflet carefully before use.
  • Contains sucrose & glucose which should be taken into account in patients with diabetes mellitus.
  • Contains fragrance that may cause allergic reactions.
  • Not recommended for use during pregnancy or breast-feeding, except under medical supervision.
  • Do not take more than 8 lozenges in 24 hours.
  • KEEP OUT OF THE SIGHT AND REACH OF CHILDREN.

Active Ingredients

The active ingredient are amylmetacresol, 2,4- dichlorobenzyl alcohol and lidocaine.

The other ingredients are liquid glucose (containing wheat starch and sulphur dioxide), liquid sucrose, tartaric acid, sodium saccharin, levomenthol, peppermint oil (containing d- limonene), star anise oil (containing anisyl alcohol, d- limonene & linalool), quinoline yellow (E104) and indigo carmine (E132).
