Zovirax Cold Sore Cream 2g Tube

Wash your hands. Apply a thin layer to the cold sore and the skin just around it five times a day, at roughly four-hour intervals, for five days. If it hasn't healed after five days you can continue for up to another five days.

Start as early as possible, ideally at the first tingle, and wash your hands after applying.

For the lips and face only — not the eyes, inside the mouth or nose, or the genitals.

Who should not use Zovirax?

Do not use if you are allergic to aciclovir, valaciclovir, propylene glycol or any of the ingredients.

Do not use to treat mouth ulcers, or for herpes in or near the eyes.

Warnings & precautions

If the cold sore is severe, or you have a weakened immune system, see a doctor for advice. Avoid sharing the tube to prevent spreading the virus.

Possible side effects

Temporary stinging, burning or itching, dryness or flaking of the skin, and mild redness where applied. Rarely, an allergic reaction — stop use and seek advice.
