IRELAND'S BEST REVIEWED PHARMACY

Danalac

Danalac goat milk formula is made in Estonia, in the EU, by Dana Dairy and comes in three stages: Stage 1 Infant Formula (from birth), Stage 2 Follow On Formula (from 6 months) and Stage 3 Growing Up Formula (1–3 years). Breastfeeding is best for babies. If you're deciding whether to use an infant formula, your GP, public health nurse or pharmacist can advise on what suits your child.

Choosing between the stages

The stages follow your child's age. Stage 1 is a first infant formula suitable from birth. Stage 2 is a follow-on formula for babies from 6 months, as part of a mixed diet. Stage 3 is a growing-up milk for toddlers aged 1 to 3 years. Each comes in an 800g tin with a measuring scoop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Danalac made?

Danalac goat milk formula is made in Estonia, in the EU, to the same EU standards that apply to all infant and follow-on formula sold in Ireland.

Is goat milk formula suitable for a cow's milk allergy?

No. Goat milk proteins are very similar to cow milk proteins, so babies with cow's milk protein allergy usually react to goat milk formula too. Talk to your GP if you think your baby has a milk allergy.

How do I prepare it safely?

Use freshly boiled tap water that has cooled for no more than 30 minutes, so it's still at least 70°C. Add the water to the bottle first, then the exact number of level scoops from the feeding table on the tin. Make each feed fresh and throw away any left over.

Where can I get feeding advice?

Your public health nurse, GP or pharmacist can support you with infant feeding, including whether and how to use a formula alongside or instead of breastfeeding.

Danalac goat milk formula was previously sold in Ireland under the name Honilac.
