Easolief Duo Paracetamol 500mg & Ibuprofen 150mg Tablets 24 Pack

• Adults over 18: take one or two tablets every six hours as needed.
• Swallow whole with a full glass of water. Taking it with or just after food can help protect your stomach.
• Leave at least six hours between doses. Do not take more than 6 tablets in 24 hours.
• Do not take it for more than 3 days. Talk to your doctor if you are no better, or feel worse, after 3 days.
• Take the smallest dose that controls your pain, for the shortest time.

Safety information

Who should not use it

Not for anyone under 18. Do not take it if you are allergic to paracetamol, ibuprofen or any of the ingredients, or if aspirin or another anti-inflammatory painkiller has ever caused asthma, hives or an allergic reaction. Do not take it if you have an active or recurring stomach or duodenal ulcer, or bleeding on two or more separate occasions; if you have had bleeding or a hole in the stomach or gut after taking an anti-inflammatory; if you have severe heart, liver or kidney failure; if you have bleeding in the brain or other active bleeding, or a blood-forming disorder; if you regularly drink large amounts of alcohol; or if you are in the last three months of pregnancy. Do not take it alongside any other product containing paracetamol or ibuprofen, or with aspirin or any other anti-inflammatory painkiller.

Warnings & precautions

Never take this with another paracetamol product — too much paracetamol can cause serious liver damage, and the damage may not be obvious at the time. The same applies to taking it with another anti-inflammatory or with aspirin. Do not take more than 6 tablets in 24 hours, and do not take it for more than three days without speaking to your doctor. Do not drink alcohol while taking it, as the combination can damage the liver. Anti-inflammatory painkillers such as ibuprofen carry a small increased risk of heart attack or stroke, particularly at high doses and with long-term use. Do not use it while you have chickenpox. Take care if you have asthma or a history of allergy, kidney, liver or heart problems, high blood pressure, Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, or if you are dehydrated, and ask your pharmacist if you take blood thinners, steroids, lithium, methotrexate, water tablets, blood-pressure medicines, SSRIs or the antibiotic flucloxacillin. A rare but serious problem called metabolic acidosis has been reported, mostly in people who are seriously ill, undernourished, drink heavily or take flucloxacillin; get urgent help if you develop deep, rapid breathing with drowsiness, nausea and vomiting. Stop taking it and get medical advice straight away if you develop any rash, sores in the mouth or other mucous membranes, blisters or other signs of an allergic reaction.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding

Do not take it in the last three months of pregnancy. In the first six months, take it only if it is absolutely necessary and your doctor has said you can. The leaflet also says this medicine may make it harder to become pregnant and is not recommended if you are trying to conceive; that effect reverses when you stop taking it. If you are breastfeeding, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking it.

Possible side effects

Side effects that may affect up to 1 in 10 people include feeling or being sick, loss of appetite, heartburn or pain in the upper stomach, cramps, wind, constipation or diarrhoea, slight blood loss from the gut, skin rashes and itching, headache, dizziness, feeling nervous, ringing or buzzing in the ears, and unusual weight gain, swelling or fluid retention. Stop taking it and get medical help straight away if you vomit blood or something that looks like coffee grounds, pass black sticky or bloody stools or bleed from the back passage, develop swelling of the face, lips or tongue, wheezing or shortness of breath, sudden or severe itching, a rash or hives, or a severe rash with blisters and bleeding of the lips, eyes, mouth, nose or genitals.

Each film-coated tablet contains paracetamol 500mg and ibuprofen 150mg.

Also contains, in the tablet: maize starch, pregelatinised maize starch, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate and talc. In the coating: hypromellose (E464), lactose monohydrate, titanium dioxide (E171), macrogol 4000, sodium citrate (E331) and talc.

Contains lactose — talk to your doctor first if you have been told you cannot tolerate some sugars. Contains less than 1mmol (23mg) of sodium per tablet, so it is essentially sodium-free.
