What is Centrum?
Centrum is a range of complete daily multivitamin and mineral supplements. Rather than a single nutrient, each formula brings together a broad set of vitamins and minerals in one tablet, chewable, gummy or capsule, tailored to a particular life stage. It is designed to help fill gaps in the diet and support everyday wellbeing — alongside varied, balanced eating rather than in place of it.
Which Centrum multivitamin should I choose?
- Adults generally — Centrum Advance. B vitamins help release energy from food, while vitamins C and D and zinc help support normal immune function.
- Adults over 50 — Centrum Advance 50+. It is formulated with vitamin D, B vitamins and zinc to help support immune function and cognitive health in adults over 50.
- Men — Centrum Men. It helps support muscle function, immunity and metabolism as well as energy levels.
- Women — Centrum Women. It contains calcium, iron and folic acid, plus biotin and zinc, which may help support the appearance of hair and skin.
- Men over 50 — Centrum Men 50+. It contains 24 key nutrients including all 13 essential vitamins and supports areas such as the immune system, eye health and heart function.
- Women over 50 — Centrum Women 50+. It helps maintain dental health, bone health, eyesight and skin health, and is lactose- and gluten-free.
What is the difference between Centrum Advance and Centrum Advance 50+?
Both are complete once-daily tablets, but the nutrient balance differs. Centrum Advance is the general adult formula with B-complex vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin D, zinc and iron. Centrum Advance 50+ is reformulated for adults aged 50 and over, whose nutritional requirements change with age, with a focus on immune function and cognitive health and an easy-to-swallow tablet.
What is the difference between Centrum Men and Centrum Women?
Centrum Men is formulated around muscle function, immunity, metabolism and energy levels, and is verified non-GMO and gluten-free. Centrum Women is built for busy lifestyles and includes calcium, iron and folic acid, with biotin and zinc that may help support the appearance of hair and skin. Both are also stocked in a 30-tablet size — Men 30 Pack and Women 30 Pack — if you would rather trial a month first.
Should I buy the 30 pack or the 60 pack?
Both hold the same tablet; only the count changes. A 30-pack is a one-month supply and is the sensible way to try a formula you have not used before. A 60-pack is two months and is usually the better value per tablet, which is why most regular customers move to it once they know a formula suits them. Centrum MultiGummies Adults and Centrum Advance 50+ are sold as a single product with pack-size options, so choose the size on the product page.
Is there a Centrum for children?
Yes, three options. Centrum Kids Chewable Tablets contain 16 key nutrients including vitamin D, which is key for the normal development of young healthy bones. The gummy alternatives are Kids Multigummies Mixed Berry and Kids Multigummies Orange & Mixed Berry. They include vitamins C and D to help the immune system and are suitable for children aged 4 and over.
I struggle to swallow tablets — what are my options?
- Adult gummies — Centrum MultiGummies Adults. It contains vitamin B6 to support energy release and vitamin D to help maintain immune function across a balanced blend of 10 key nutrients, in cherry, berry and orange flavours from all-natural flavourings. The dose is two gummies a day.
- Adult chewable tablets — Centrum Fruity Chewables. Centrum Fruity Chewables helps with the immune system and supports energy release, metabolism and healthy skin, and the pack is small enough for a handbag or work desk.
- Children — the chewable tablets or either of the Kids Multigummies above.
What is Centrum Multibiotic, and how is it different from a multivitamin?
The Multibiotic line is about gut bacteria rather than vitamins. Multibiotic Daily delivers Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium strains to help support digestive comfort and regularity. Multibiotic Complete is the fuller version — it combines live cultures with key nutrients to help support the balance of good bacteria in the gut, and is often chosen around travel or after a period of dietary disruption. Both are one capsule a day, 30 capsules to a pack.
When is the best time of day to take Centrum?
Consistency matters more than timing. Most people find it easiest to take a multivitamin with their largest meal, which also tends to sit better with anyone who finds supplements a little heavy on an empty stomach. Chewables and gummies can be taken whenever suits. Do not exceed the stated dose, and do not take two different Centrum multivitamins at the same time.
Can I take Centrum with my prescription medicines?
Often yes, but it is worth a quick check. Multivitamins containing iron, calcium, magnesium or zinc can affect how well certain medicines are absorbed — thyroid medication and some antibiotics are the usual examples — and are often best separated by a couple of hours. If you take anticoagulants, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have kidney or liver problems, speak to your GP or to our pharmacists before starting. We are happy to check your list.
