Eau de parfum (EDP) has a higher concentration of perfume oils, so it usually smells richer and lasts longer on the skin. Eau de toilette (EDT) is lighter and fresher, which suits daytime and warmer weather. Body mists are lighter again.

How can I make a fragrance last longer?

Apply it to moisturised skin just after a shower, on pulse points such as the wrists, neck and inner elbows. Don't rub your wrists together, as this breaks down the top notes. Keep bottles out of sunlight and away from heat.

How do I choose an aftershave as a gift?

Stick with a scent he already wears if you know it. If not, fresh and citrus fragrances are the safest choice for everyday wear, and woody or spicy scents suit evenings. A gift set adds matching extras for little more than the bottle alone.
